About me and my projects.
Hello ! My name is Meritxell Marquès Gainza. I was born in Girona a small city from the north of Spain.
Currently, I am undergoing a Master's on Teaching and Learning English as a Second Language at the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. I chose this master's degree because I wanted to learn more about teaching and the University of Pompeu Fabra is one of the best universities in the world. So I felt curious to learn in depth about the Catalan school system and acquire techniques in order to give the best second language classes!
I have always considered myself to be a curious person, that's why I can't keep a day going without learning something new! Maybe that's why I like moving to other countries so much. Because I feel it's fascinating to learn from different cultures and other perspectives and about life itself.
My personal Odyssey started six years ago when I decided that I wanted to live in France. I studied an English Degree at the University of Jean Jaurès in Toulouse. I learned so much about the English culture and literature. But also at the same time, I got to learn some more about French culture and language too!
My next project after finishing my master's degree will be moving to Helsinki, Finland. In order to continue my training as a teacher I will enroll in another master's degree that will be based on the pedagogy and teaching of Finnish schools. This decision comes from my aim to learn more about education and also learn from different school systems. The Catalan system and the Finnish one most particularly.
